System Thinking Virtual Exchange

Synapse Africa

SYNAPSE is an Erasmus+ Virtual Exchanges project, co-funded by the European Commission. We equip young people with the skills to critically analyse local and global challenges, co-create sustainable solutions, and actively engage in policy dialogue.

Through a Systems Thinking approach, SYNAPSE addresses key themes such as climate action, digital transformation, and social inclusion, helping participants understand the interconnected nature of today’s challenges.

The project prioritises inclusion and diversity by ensuring the participation of young women, youth with disabilities, and young people from rural communities. Our virtual learning environments are designed to be fully accessible and inclusive.

By strengthening youth organisations and higher education institutions, fostering intercultural understanding, and building sustainable networks, SYNAPSE amplifies youth voices in governance and development, creating impact that lasts beyond the project’s lifetime.

SYNAPSE will engage 2,500 youth from five Sub-Saharan African countries, Nigeria, Kenya, Ethiopia, Namibia, and Malawi as well as Italy and Spain in Europe. The project will create inclusive, youth-led spaces where young people from the EU and Sub-Saharan Africa can shape virtual exchanges, set priorities, and actively contribute to youth-informed policy dialogues.
