Our Partners
The SYNAPSE Virtual Exchanges project, co-funded by the European Union under the Erasmus+ Programme, is implemented by a consortium of 12 partner organisations across Europe and Sub-Saharan Africa.
The project brings together universities, non-profit organisations, and innovation hubs to promote systems thinking, digital collaboration, and youth empowerment across regions.
The SYNAPSE Virtual Exchange Project
The SYNAPSE Virtual Exchange Project is a bold three-year international initiative (2026–2028), funded under the Erasmus+ programme. It connects young people across Italy, Spain, Nigeria, Kenya, Namibia, Ethiopia, and Malawi to co-create solutions for today’s most pressing global challenges.
The project brings together youth and facilitators in structured virtual exchanges that promote systems thinking, digital collaboration, and intercultural dialogue. Through this approach, SYNAPSE strengthens skills, fosters meaningful connections, and empowers young people to actively contribute to their communities and beyond.
Grounded in Systems Thinking, SYNAPSE adopts a holistic approach to understanding complex challenges by focusing on interconnections and long-term impact. Activities are developed around four interconnected pillars, ensuring effective collaboration, active youth participation, and inclusive capacity building.
Connect
Building strong networks among partner organisations to foster collaboration, shared learning, and institutional growth.
Engage
Activating youth facilitators to lead virtual exchanges, promote dialogue, and strengthen leadership skills.
Empower
Equipping young people with systems thinking, digital collaboration, and social innovation skills, with a strong focus on inclusion and diversity.
Inclusiveness
Ensuring representation of young women, youth with disabilities and youth from rural areas among the participants. All the training materials and virtual exchanges spaces will adopt internation accessibility standards enabling equitable participation for all.
